Hello Fig Friends-
Many of you have reached out so I wanted to let all of you know some plans to help the LA FIRE victims…. Fig Tree resides in Northern California which is a 6 hour drive north of LA and nowhere near the devastation that is occurring so we are not in any danger ourselves. However, I grew up in Arcadia and Pasadena and the Altadena neighborhood is one that I know and love well. Eric and I’s first apartment was in Pasadena on Lake Avenue 🙁. I can’t even begin to imagine what it looks and feels like in person today.
Fig Tree has donated several boxes of quilts and I wanted to share the info with you in case you are able to join me and collect or make quilts as well!
I know as quilters we all know what a handmade quilt could mean to someone in crisis that currently has nothing.

QUILT & BASIC ITEMS DRIVE

We are partnering with WRAP THE WORLD WITH QUILTS and my friend Gina Caldwell Halladay who helps run that organization. I know Gina personally and they are already organized and receiving quilts to take to SoCal as we speak. So let’s join them!!
Check them out @wraptheworldwithquilts for all of the info, addresses and specific needs!

They have a special GIVEBACK BOX that allows you to ship up to 50 lbs for $20 so I encourage you to take a look at that if you have the capacity to donate a stack of quilts and/or blankets or are planning on including any of the items they have listed in their posts. I know some of you are already joining me from our posts in our Facebook groups but just wanted to put it here as well! Happy Wednesday, Quilty Friends!

Today is the first week for our FREE VALENTINE’S MYSTERY SEW ALONG. Hopefully if you are reading this, you are joining us in sewing up this lovely scrappy Valentine’s throw...welcome!

Our quilt is a mystery and each week we will give you an assignment to work on and in about a month we will all have a completed Valentine’s worthy quilt. I can tell you that the finished size will be 65 ½” x 65 ½” and filled with pink, red and cream goodness!

If mysteries are not your thing, you can always hang back for a week or so and watch as the quilt starts to take shape and jump in once you are more certain. For the rest of us, the mystery is a big part of the fun, so let’s do this!

All the pattern info for THIS WEEK #1 ASSIGNMENT is now on the blog, too so come on over to follow along digitally or to download the directions if that is your preference.

Fabrics shown are a large mix of @modafabrics featuring Fig Tree EYELET BASICS as well as LINEN CUPBOARD. We have mixed in some low volume and pink favorites from Bunny Hill, Lella Boutique, Ruby Star, and Minick & Simspon, too.

The next #figsandfriendscolab is starting to ship this week and I couldn’t be more excited about this one. There is something about coral and citron together!! For those of you who have been eyeballing the new FIGS AND FRIENDS program but missed out on joining the subscription, we have made up some extra bundles from this BUNDLE #5: PEACHY GREEN GEESE BUNDLE in case you want to grab one.

As a fabric designer, sometimes working on a compl

As a fabric designer, sometimes working on a completely different season doesn’t really bother me at all and other times it totally throws me off my game! This is one of the latter! 🥴🥹🥹 Introducing it at Christmas and then showing it to you guys in January, somehow is not working with my aesthetic brain :-). So this is what we are going to do... I am going to show you guys some of it here and the rest I will reveal on the blog, in my newsletter and hopefully, fingers crossed, on a YouTube trunk show.

So what does this mean? Well I guess it means that you should be signed up for my newsletter, familiar with the blog and subscribed to my YouTube channel. If you have done all three of those things... then you are good to go and you won’t miss a thing. In general, I am hoping to work more via those other platforms in 2025 anyway so please join me there if you can.

But for today, I want to reintroduce you to AGATHA ROAD... due in stores in July 2025. For all of you who fell in love with ALL HALLOWS EVE, consider this the softer more romantic sister. The signature butterscotch orange is the same as is the charcoal. But the tan leaning greys are softer and warmer and the prints are reminiscent of vintage wall paper and soft linens. I named her Agatha Road in honor of Agatha Christie, whose books I have read for decades. I could not think of a better way to honor her and give us all the soft, halloween inspired vibes in fabric. So honest question... if you had to pick between the more classic ALL HALLOWS EVE or this softer AGATHA ROAD vibe, what would you pick? Comments will enter you to win an AGATHA ROAD precut! Shown above is the Pecan Blossoms quilt which is back from the amazing @quiltedgrammy Diana and pieced by my favorite sewing sidekick, Cheryl @cahslz . Pecan Blossoms is one of the accompanying patterns for this collection and patterns will be available in about a month. @modafabrics

We wanted to get the new year kicked off right – and one idea came to mind immediately – a SEW ALONG with our favorite peeps…that means you!

We’ve decided to keep this one a bit of a mystery, but not to worry. We think you’ll love this scrappy, beginner-friendly pattern. You know it will have pinks, reds and creams AND that it will have hearts… but that is about it. Will you join us?

The sew along will last 4 weeks and will begin on January 15, 2025. We will have a weekly blog post sharing that week’s assignment and free pattern instructions, so head there each Wednesday to join in on the Valentine’s fun! For now, we do have an announcement blog post containing the fabric requirements, so feel free to start pulling from your stash or creating your shopping list!
