Stitchery Sampler Sew Along: Block #2

Welcome back to Block #2 info for our STITCHERY SAMPLER SEW ALONG. If you need background information, please click HERE or HERE.

BLOCK #2 INFO & VIDEO

This block is our introduction to appliqué in this sampler, with simple shapes that are a great place to start. I know that appliqué is not everyone’s “thing” but we felt like for a sampler, we needed to include even just a little bit. Click on the video HERE on our YouTube channel to see our method of the Starch Method of Appliqué and my tips and hints for this block. Please don’t let it scare you… give it a try and you might actually end up loving it!

Happy Sewing!

    Hi Joana,
    This pattern is so beautiful.
I’d like to sew along with you at the Stichery Sampler. As I life in Germany I’d like to purchase the pattern as a pdf download. Would it be available as well in your shop soon?
    Thank’s for your answer, Andrea

I want to thank you for putting these on your blog instead of Facebook. So much easier to find the information. I don’t use Facebook enough so the feed never shows what I am looking for. I have sometimes spent hours looking for corrections to the Block of the Month. I am usually not working on it at the same time the correction is posted. I love your fabric and patterns.

All of our Sew Alongs are in both places for people to see/use as they prefer. Thanks so much,

    Hi Joanna!
On your posts I’ve since the boards you use to layout your blocks, I’d like to either make some. Is there instructions or are they available to purchase?
Thank you for your help! Have a great day! I’m hoping to get at least block 1 done today!

    Hi Joanna,
I just love this quilt. Just wondering what Bella solid color goes best with 1930’s fabrics. I’m thinking about doing this with my huge stash of It.
    Thanks

That is a good question that I have no idea how to answer. the ivory solid we use is a soft colored ivory but not sure how it would compare to vintage 1930’s fabrics. There is also off white and parchment to try. Really not sure.
